This remarkable woman's mould-breaking techniques captured images over the course of three decades in a style that made intangible subjects tangible, a rare skill few photographers before her had been able to achieve.

From her South Coast base, she travelled the country bringing celluloid to life, from a Fairey Duckling becalmed on the Hamble River to an "Admiral's Cupper" chinese gybing, or broaching with the foredeck crew thrown a-sunder in the Solent.
